Miss Mary's Mid-Week Market

Just a few blocks North of the Los Lunas Rail Runner Station, lies an understated building that was the home of Miss Mary's Mid-Week Market.  Upon entering you were enveloped by a wonderland of bright and beautiful things.  Surrounded by fabulous jewelry, great purses, sparkling rosaries, fun figurine jewelry holders and beautiful Mardi Gras style wall masks, you found Mary Richardson.  An artist in her own right Mary had packed every inch of her shop with art displays and accessories, many created by local artisans.  Even the bathroom of this cozy shop was filled with belly dancing attire, Victorian cards and spa products.

The second room’s walls were covered by art exhibits and photography.  She featured the art exhibit of a different artist every other month and did  an art display tribute to the military for Memorial Day.

Mary organized weekly “hoola-cise” sessions there in the shops yard on Tuesdays.  For $20 you could decorate your own hoola hoop to participate in this fun fitness activity.

She had started a purse club so when you bought five of her elegant purses you got one free.  Club cards were available at the store.

Another of her events was a jewelry swap meet in the Spring and Saturday outdoor art fairs.

Normal business hours were Tuesday through Thursday from 11am to 6pm with extended hours for special events.

My Jewelry at Miss Mary's

One of my art displays was here at Miss Mary's.  I sold jewelry through her shop, displayed on one of my trademark treasure chests.  I kept a variety of necklaces, earrings and eyeglass chains on display there.  I always enjoyed visiting her shop.
